Experimental campaign: Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) in the CME2 axial compressor

Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) in the CME2 axial compressor

A challenging experimental campaign: Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) in the CME2 axial compressor, close to stall condition.

PIV (2D2C) is an optical measurement tool, relying on laser, camera and seeding to get planar velocity measurement in the flow. Due to the limited optical access and to the very narrow internal space, this kind of measurement appears to be quite a challenge, considering it is the first time it is realized on this machine !

PIV campaign is in preparation at Arts et Métiers ParisTech - École Nationale Supérieure d'Arts et Métiers, with the technical support of ONERA - The French Aerospace Lab, and will be held in March and April. It will give some brand new results about the internal flow physics in compressor, near stall with and without active flow control.
